There have been photos of Sapokka and Katariina in my blog in lastest days. Sapokka and Katariina are parks in Kotka City in Finland. Both Kotka and Sapokka have been/looked like much different before. Sapokka – a spoiled gulf and Katariina an oil harbour out of use. Both of those are also admirable examples of good and succesfull deeds of human beings when they decide to do something good and usefull.
Anyway, the testimony of the Bible is:
Lord may do more…
Lord may do more abundantly and far over than we may think. Possibilities of Lord exceed boundaries of comprehension. We call that a miracle.
In the following days I will focus to two of this kind of mircles. The first of these miracles is well known story about dry bones getting new, refreshing life in Ez. 37: 1-14 (Ampl.):
The hand of the Lord was upon me, and He brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones.
And He caused me to pass round about among them, and behold, there were very many [human bones] in the open valley or plain, and behold, they were very dry.
And He said to me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, You know!
Again He said to me, Prophesy to these bones and say to them, O you dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.
Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath and spirit to enter you, and you shall live;
And I will lay sinews upon you and bring up flesh upon you and cover you with skin, and I will put breath and spirit in you, and you [dry bones] shall live; and you shall know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord [the Sovereign Ruler, Who calls forth loyalty and obedient service].
So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a [thundering] noise and behold, a shaking and trembling and a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone.
And I looked and behold, there were sinews upon [the bones] and flesh came upon them and skin covered them over, but there was no breath or spirit in them.
Then said He to me, Prophesy to the breath and spirit, son of man, and say to the breath and spirit, Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath and spirit, and breathe upon these slain that they may live.
So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath and spirit came into [the bones], and they lived and stood up upon their feet, an exceedingly great host.
Then He said to me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, Our bones are dried up and our hope is lost; we are completely cut off.
Therefore prophesy and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will open your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves, O My people; and I will bring you [back home] to the land of Israel.
And you shall know that I am the Lord [your Sovereign Ruler], when I have opened your graves and caused you to come up out of your graves, O My people.
And I shall put My Spirit in you and you shall live, and I shall place you in your own land. Then you shall know, understand, and realize that I the Lord have spoken it and performed it, says the Lord.
Thus says the prophet?
I have met teachings of prophecying/ proclaiming, lost direction, with these results (confusion, counterfeit, etc.). According to these teachings we have to prophecy/proclaim and Lord do as we prophecy/proclaim. One argument for these teachings is verses of Ezekiel written above. Truly we can´t find that kind of argument in Ezekiel but, instead of that, we discover a thought in which we wake up to find that a prophet/preacher speak and do as Lord says (or command him/her to do). An initiatior is Lord (also) in this miracle. A human being speaks words of Lord, not his/her own, in/to situation. [Lord/ He says]. It is not a question of proclaming/prophecying by a human being, but the question is ”Thus says Lord”.
So I prophesied as I was commanded
- and the result interrelated to one another.
and as I prophesied, there was a [thundering] noise and behold, a shaking and trembling and a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone.
And I looked and behold, there were sinews upon [the bones] and flesh came upon them and skin covered them over — and the breath and spirit came into [the bones], and they lived and stood up upon their feet, an exceedingly great host.
When selfguiding is not wort the effort
One another kink, which I have met in the matter of prophecying/proclaiming and a relevant teaching of the matter at hand is a selfguiding feeble attent to proclaim/prophecy judgment, , disaster and/or curses, when things don´t go my way. Once more, the Bible doesn´t support this kind of understanding of prophecies/proclamations. Even then a prophet proclaimed a judgment of Lord as a result of a diviation from Gods will he/she spoke a message given by Lord, not his/her own. The focus wasn´t a prophet but instead of that Lord and His will. Prophecies didn´t lock a person to the judgment proclaimed, but included a promise to theid message: When you repent, you will be saved. When you repent, the situation shall change. And, in some case, you have suffered enough, it is era of new.
In these verses written by Ezekiel we can find the promise of new (era). The new (era) which seems to be impossible (if we look the situation according to our own, human, understanding). Tomorrow we will be back and focus to the colourfull and vivid promise concluded by Lord to His people.
